Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple compound in Indonesia and one of the greatest Hindu monuments in Southeast Asia. This 9th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site is dedicated to the Trimurti — Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Shiva the Destroyer.
The sight of Prambanan's towering spires (the tallest reaching 47 metres) glowing gold against a pink and purple sunset sky is utterly unforgettable. The site is particularly magical at dusk, when fewer crowds remain and the ancient stones catch the last light.

Best Time to Visit
Prambanan is best visited in the late afternoon for the famous sunset views. The dry season (May–October) offers clearer skies. Combine with a morning visit to Borobudur for a perfect temple day.
How to Get There
Prambanan is 17 km east of Yogyakarta, about 30 minutes by car. It's easily combined with other Yogyakarta day tours.
